Navigation How Calling Cards Were Used Samples Scrapbooks

Card Samples & the Sales of Cards:
Calling cards were sold by the tons via salesmen, printing firms, dry good stores and some by mail order.  Card Samples are simply the sample cards used by sales people to show to potential customers.

The following scrapbook example is the most unusual seen to date. Some printers used sheets of illustrations, others placed sample cards in with ordered cards.  Individual sales people were often left to do something creative with sample cards acquired from the printing firms.
